Live edge benchI just built this live edge bench using a live edge slab I bought at a hardware store on the slab I chipped off all the bark as it was peeling off and could give someone slivers I then sanded it down to 3000 grit and lightly burnt the wood with a propane handheld torch I then applied 5 coats of clear gloss lacquer to give it a smooth shiny and waterproof I gave it a light sanding in-between coats the legs were made out of a cedar 2x4 the cedar 2x4 was cut to size for the legs and is held together using wood dowels and wood glue that cant be seen from the outside I also sanded the legs down to 3000 grit and lightly burnt with a propane torch I then applied 5 coats of clear gloss lacquer and sanded down in between coats the legs are mounted to the slab using wood glue and wooden dowels
